MK Dons Ladies maintained their unbeaten start to the FA Women’s Premier League South East Division One season with a 2-0 victory away at table toppers Crystal Palace.
Matt French’s eventually broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when Chloe Smith played a diagonal ball towards Heather McDonnell, who met the ball in the air and then volleyed into the top corner.
The Dons’ early goal appeared to kick Palace into life and they finally found their feet in the game, dominating the remainder of the first half and providing a constant threat to Emma Kirby’s goal - Kirby had to pull off two fantastic saves to keep the score at 1-0 going into half time.
After the restart, the Dons defence held Palace at bay and midway through the second period they doubled their lead courtesy of Leah Cudone, who beat the offside trap and calmly slotted past the Palace keeper.
The Dons continued to play attractive football after their goal and were able to see out the contest with relative ease to extend their winning run to three games and move to third in the table.
