Players pushed in Portugal heat

7 October 2015

The players were really put through their paces during a testing two-hour session in the Portugal heat on Tuesday.

Working at a high tempo throughout, the group were pushed to the maximum in the number of drills they took part in, culminating in attack v defence.

Over 125km was covered by the players at a high level of intensity and 65 litres of water drunk so there downtime in the afternoon was a well-earned rest.

Cody Cropper returned to light training under the guidance of Goalkeeper Coach Paul Heald while Head of Sports Medicine Simon Crampton and Sports Therapist Adam Ross oversaw those rehabbing – read an in-depth injury update here.

Day 3 will be another tough one with the session starting at 10am at a nearby complex to the team’s base in Almancil.
