As part of the Club’s commitment to making stadiummk a safe environment, a new text service has been launched for supporters to report issues to the Control Room on a matchday.
Using number 80011, fans can simply text the code ‘mkdsafe’ followed by your issue and the Dons’ Safety Team will then investigate and respond.
Fans should report issues like abusive, racist, or sexist language as well as other discrimination or poor behaviour, at the time rather than after the event.
Andrew Cullen, Executive Director at MK Dons, said: “It is very important to us here at MK Dons that everyone feels as safe as is possible in the stadium, coming to matches and other events.
“We have worked with the Safety Team and our IT Department, and listened to the views of fans and the MK Dons Supporters Association to try to provide the best way for people to report bad behaviour at the time, rather than telling someone afterwards.
“The text service provides an easy way for anyone with a mobile phone to report things to us at the time and without having to be seen obviously reporting to a steward.”
Safety and Security Manager Andy Standen added: “Reporting to us at the time means we stand a better chance of identifying and responding to issues that, at the moment, are being reported to us after the match, or are going unreported altogether.
“We want to nip things in the bud before they become a big problem, so we hope that people find this text service a useful way of telling us what’s going on and what they want us to deal with in a confidential manner.
“We will use CCTV and our stewards to assess and confirm what’s being reported before acting. As in all situations, we will take whatever action is deemed necessary to resolve the situation, which could result in people being removed from the stadium.”
