McFadzean extends MK1 stay

6 November 2015

Kyle McFadzean has signed a new deal with the Dons.

The defender has put pen-to-paper on a contract which will extend his stay with the Club until June 2018.

McFadzean moved to stadiummk prior to the 2014/15 campaign and played an integral role in helping the side achieve promotion to the Sky Bet Championship. With the 28-year-old in the centre of defence, the Dons kept a club-record 24 clean-sheets en route to their second-place finish in League 1.

He remains a vital part of the men from MK1's backline and will now continue to be so for another two-and-a-half years.

“I’m over the moon,” McFadzean told MK Dons PlayerHD. “It was a no-brainer to sign because I love it here. I enjoy working with the Gaffer, Richie and all the staff and players. They are a good group.

“The fans have been great to me from day one and that’s another reason why I signed. We are only going to get more and more fans and so it’s only going to get better.”

“I just really wanted to get it sorted so I’m pleased it’s all done. Now I can just look forward to the next two-and-a-half years.”

Dons boss Karl Robinson, who brought McFadzean to the Club, added: “This is great news for Football Club both now and for the future.

“Kyle is instrumental to the team in terms of his ability and stature. It’s no surprise that teams have been watching Kyle but by signing a new deal it shows he’s got belief in the Club and the direction we’re heading in.”
