Loan round-up

Ian McLoughlin helped Walsall earn a 1-1 draw against Notts County in the final game of his loan spell in the West Midlands.

The Irish-born ‘keeper, who returned to stadiummk following the game, made several key saves for the Saddlers before finally being breached in the 66th minute – County midfielder Yoann Arquin slotting home after McLoughlin had blocked Alan Judge’s initial effort.

The former Ipswich trainee made a total of six appearances during for Dean Smith’s men since joining them on loan in mid-January and has been in impressive form, helping the Saddlers climb into 9th in League 1.

Walsall only lost once while McLoughlin was between the sticks, with the former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international only conceding seven times – holding promotion contenders AFC Bournemouth and Doncaster Rovers to a solitary goal each.

McLoughlin will now return to MK1 and link back up with his Dons team-mates for training this afternoon.
