Dean Lewington calls on the Dons to follow up Saturday's hard-earned point with at home to Fleetwood Town on Tuesday.
“Fleetwood are new to the division and, although we don’t know too much about them, we will do our homework and be prepared for what is going to be a hard game,” Lewington told MK Dons Player.
“When you’re in a good vein of form you want the games to come quickly and we want to back up a good draw with a home win and we’re fully focused on doing just that.”
Saturday’s draw at the Matchroom Stadium saw the Dons slip to fifth in Sky Bet League 1 but Lewington insists any result the team can earn away from stadiummk is a positive one.
“Going away from home and coming back with a point is never a bad thing, so we were reasonably pleased with Saturday’s result. There were lots of pleasing aspects to our game, playing some good stuff at times as well as keeping a clean sheet.
“We dominated and, in the first 10 minutes especially, we looked very sharp and dangerous, we just couldn’t quite open them up in the final third which is sometimes the way it goes. When that happens it’s important you don’t concede at the other end and secure at least a point and we were able to do that.
“It was pleasing to see us show a bit of steeliness and character. We’ve been working hard as a back four in recent weeks, having conceded a few goals in the last three or four games, but on Saturday I didn’t think they created too much from open play.”
