Defender Antony Kay comes up against a familiar outfit this weekend at stadiummk, in the shape of his former side and hometown club, Barnsley.
“I was a fan of Barnsley as a youngster and I joined them when I was nine, so I was around the place from a very young age,” he told reddot. “I used to go and watch them all the time when they were in the Premier League and I have a lot of fond memories of my time there – both as a fan and a player.
“It’s always one of the games I look out for when the fixtures are announced, as Barnsley is where I’m from and I’ve got a lot of family and friends still living there. It’s an important game for me.
“I don’t know any of the players that are there now, personally, as none of them were there when I was but I do know a lot of coaching staff and the people that work there so it will be good to see them again.”
Kay discusses more about his time at Oakwell as well as the Dons' current form in a full interview in this Saturday's edition of reddot, which will be available from sellers around the ground at a price of £3.
