Karl: We weren’t good enough

25 January 2016

Karl Robinson was not making excuses after his side’s disappointing defeat at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

The Dons were beaten for the first time in three games in the Sky Bet Championship encounter at the Macron Stadium and boss Robinson admits his side were well below par.

“We weren’t good enough,” said the Liverpudlian. “We looked lethargic, we were second to every ball and were bullied in every area of the pitch. We were outplayed.

“I thought we started sluggish and we were sloppy. In both penalty areas we looked way, way off it. We just weren’t good enough and the players need to look at themselves.”

The Dons travel to Cardiff City in their next Sky Bet Championship clash on Saturday 6th February - tickets are priced at £21 adults, £16 over-60s, £13 16-21 year-olds and £13 under-16s.

“Things were said amongst the group after the game – they were harsh but fair with each other. Hopefully they’ll learn from this and come back stronger.”

“We know we weren’t good enough but I can’t be completely down on my squad because of one bad performance.

He continued: “We’re in the Championship now so we’re going to have more bad days than ever before. It’s about how we respond.
