Karl: Keep performing on the road

24 October 2014

Manager Karl Robinson has called on his side to maintain their impressive away form ahead of Saturday’s clash with Doncaster Rovers.

MThe Dons have started the season strongly on their travels, taking 10 points from their first six road games, and they travel to Keepmoat Stadium tomorrow looking to add another three to that total.

“We feel we’ve got a formula which works at the moment but in football that can change quite quickly so we’re keeping our feet firmly on the ground,” Robinson told MK Dons Player.

“We’re all in a good place at the moment but there are no medals handed out just yet, we know there is still a long way to go. We’re taking every game as it comes and we’re going to keep performing the best we possibly can for our fans, who have been magnificent this season.”

Robinson’s men go into this weekend’s game fourth in the Sky Bet League 1 table, just three points adrift of second place with two games in hand – a complete contrast from the position they found themselves in towards the back end of last season.

“We’ve not a bad start and it’s one that everybody is happy with. From having the second worst record in the league at end of last season, we’ve turned it around in less than six months, and we now we need to make sure we continue in the right direction.”

As well as look ahead to Saturday’s trip to Doncaster, Robinson also took time out to mention his assistant, Richie Barker, who the Dons boss says has made an impact since jumping on board as Head of Coaching.

“I’m really happy with how things are going up to now with Richie. He is a really good manager and he’s a very good assistant manager as well. He’s certainly come in and shook the place up a little bit and it’s my job as a manager to find people like that to work with.

“Healdy’s happy too because he’s got another Yorkshireman alongside him!"

Tickets for the trip to Doncaster Rovers are now only available to buy at Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday, priced at £23 for adults, £17 for over-60s, £13 for under-21s, £8 for under-16s and £5 for under-12s.
