International recognition for trio

30 September 2014

Dons trio Ben Reeves, Will Grigg and Dele Alli have all received international call-ups.

Reeves and Grigg have been named in the Northern Ireland squad for their upcoming UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying double-header.

Following a 2-1 win in Hungary last month, the Green and White Army play their first home game of the campaign against the Faroe Islands on Saturday 11th October at Windsor Park (k.o. 7.45pm), which is followed by a trip to Greece on Tuesday 14th October at the Karaiskakis Stadium (k.o. 7.45pm UK time).

Right-back Lee Hodson was unavailable for selection due to injury.

Meanwhile, Alli has been called up to the England Under-19s side for the First Qualifying Round of the European Championship.

Alli, who made his debut at this level in the 1-1 draw with Germany last month, could feature in three games in Luxembourg – against Belarus on Friday 10th October, the host nation on Sunday 12th October and Belgium on Wednesday 15th October.

The top two from the group will progress to the Elite Qualifying Round next spring.

These call-ups mean the Sky Bet League 1 fixture with Rochdale on Saturday 11th October has been postponed, with the rearranged match at stadiummk set to take place on Tuesday 25th November (k.o. 7.45pm).
