The 18-year-old midfielder had impressed in his two appearances off the bench for the Latics and was rewarded with a place in David Dunn’s starting XI for their match with the Tykes at SportsDirect.com Park.

Rasulo played 65 minutes in the game, which finished 2-1 to the away side, with his standout moment coming in the first half when he found Cameron Dummigan with a superb ball through, however the full-back couldn’t finish.

Elsewhere, George Baldock continued his run of playing every minute of Oxford United’s 2015/16 league campaign by featuring for the full 90 in their 1-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge.

The right-back helped keep a second successive league clean-sheet for the Kassam Stadium outfit, who closed the gap on Sky Bet League 2 leaders Plymouth Argyle to two points as a result of the victory – Kemar Roofe grabbed the decisive goal.

In the Vanarama National League North, Kabongo Tshimanga wasn’t included in Nuneaton Town’s matchday squad for their match with FC United of Manchester.

The striker will be looking to make his Boro debut in Tuesday’s trip to North Ferriby United.
