MK Dons will play host to Barnsley in the FA Cup with Budweiser fifth round.

The Dons will entertain the Championship Tykes on the weekend of 16th/17th February at stadiummk.

The two sides were paired together in the fifth round draw which took place at Wembley Stadium this evening. Barnsley were the first team to ever come up against the Dons when they met in the year of MK Dons’ formation at the National Hockey Stadium in 2004.

The Dons caused one of the biggest upsets of the fourth round as they produced a stunning, and historic, 4-2 victory at Loftus Road to dump Queens Park Rangers out of the Cup. Meanwhile, David Flitcroft’s Barnsley have claimed the scalps of Hull and Burnley on the way to the last 16.

This year’s Cup campaign has already been a memorable one for the Dons as they have beaten Cambridge City, AFC Wimbledon, Sheffield Wednesday and QPR along the way.

The match will take place the 16th/17th February and as a result the Dons’ home npower League 1 game against Swindon Town will be re-arranged.
