MK Dons Ladies followed up their opening day victory over Ipswich Town last weekend with a hard-fought draw away at Enfield Town on Sunday.
The Ladies, with a depleted squad due to holiday, work and family commitments, made the trip to North London looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the 2013/14 season against a physical Enfield side.
And, unfortunately for the Dons, it was strong hosts who held the advantage at the break courtesy of a well-taken first half goal.
John Dyer’s weakened side, though, were rewarded for their determined performance when former Centre of Excellence star Chloe Smith fired home from 25-yards midway through the second period, to level the scores.
Despite several chances for both sides late-on the game finished as a tie, a result which favoured the visitors from Milton Keynes, who will hope to welcome back some of their absentees for next week’s clash with Denham.
