Darren keen to maintain form

Darren Potter says confidence is ‘sky high’ at the moment, but insists the side must not rest on their laurels.

The Dons, who moved to within three points of second place on Tuesday night with a 2-1 victory over Fleetwood Town at stadiummk, travel to Doncaster Rovers this weekend looking to extend their unbeaten run in the league to three games.

“The confidence is sky high here at the moment,” Potter told MK Dons Player. “However, we can’t rest on what we’ve done, that’s gone now. We have to move on and look forward to Saturday and hopefully we’ll capitalise on that.

“Doncaster isn’t an easy place to go, they’ve got some good players and with them coming down from the Championship, we know it’s going to be a tough one.

“But, we go into every game looking to get three points, no more no less, and it will be the same again come Doncaster on Saturday.”

Tuesday night’s victory over Fleetwood came after the Dons fell behind early in the second half, and Potter praised the character shown by the team to still come away with maximum points, when in other years they may not have.

“In times gone by we’ve been in a position where we’ve dominated the game, gone one behind and not be able to get back into it. This time, the lads have showed great character and it was more than what we deserved.

“We dominated large parts of the game and we were probably unlucky to go in at half-time with the scores 0-0. Going behind wasn’t in the game plan obviously, but the lads showed great character and the substitutes that came on made a difference.

“We were aware that when we did get the equaliser there was still plenty of time left in the game. There had been a fair few stoppages as well so we knew there was going to be plenty of added on time which gave us even more time to go and grab the winner which, thankfully, we did.”

Tickets for Saturday’s trip to Doncaster Rovers are available to buy from the Box Office at stadiummk until 5pm on Friday. Tickets will be available on the day at Keepmoat Stadium.
