Brittain impresses on Throttur debut

26 May 2016

Callum Brittain was named Man of the Match on his debut for Throttur Reykjavik.

The youngster, who is spending the summer on loan in Iceland after penning professional terms with MK Dons, played the full 90 minutes in Throttur’s Icelandic Cup Last 32 tie with Völsungur, helping the side to a convincing 3-1 victory.

Brittain starred at right-back for the Icelandic Premier Divsion outfit, who led 1-0 at half-time courtesy of Brynjar Jonasson’s 10th minute goal. Jonasson added a second just after the hour-mark before Dean Morgan – a former Don – sealed the win six minutes later.

Volsungur scored a consolation with 15 minutes remaining but it didn’t prevent Throttur from booking their place in the Last 16.

Kabongo Tshimanga, also on loan in the Nordics, was an unused substitute.

Next up for Brittain and Tshimanga is a Premier Division clash with IBV.
