Baldock's coming back

28 January 2016

George Baldock has been recalled from his loan spell at Oxford United.

The right-back has been in superb form for the U’s during the first-half of the 2015/16 season, playing 34 times and scoring two goals en route to putting the Sky Bet League 2 outfit in a great position to earn an automatic promotion berth.

Boss Robinson said: “George has put in some fantastic performances for Oxford. He has gained a lot of credibility for those displays and the way he’s conducted himself with them.

“Michael Appleton and his coaching staff have aided the development of George, who has been through a real transition over the last 18 months. He’s found a defined role and now his aim is to come back here and force his way into the team.

“We want every player we feel can influence us during the run-in, here at stadiummk. He’s one of our own and I know he will dedicate everything he’s got to helping us over these important months.”

Baldock will return to stadiummk following Oxford’s Emirates FA Cup tie with Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. He is ineligible to feature in Sunday’s clash with Chelsea, but could make his comeback in next week’s trip to Cardiff City.
