George Baldock has joined Sky Bet League 2 side Oxford United on a 93-day emergency loan.
The right-back will link up with the U’s until the end of the season, while the deal includes a 24-hour recall clause after 28 days.
Baldock could make his debut for the Oxfordshire club on Saturday, when they travel to Burton Albion.
Speaking to mkdons.com, manager Karl Robinson said: “George needs to go out and get some game time and while we have cover at the right-back position, this is an ideal opportunity for him to do that.
“We have the 24-hour recall clause in place should we need George to come back and help us - this loan move ensures that he will be ready and match sharp if that were to occur.”
Meanwhile, defender Tom Flanagan has returned to the Club following the expiry of his loan at Plymouth Argyle. During his time in Devon, Flanagan made four appearances, all of which were starts.
