Baker: There’s more to come

28 November 2014

Carl Baker insists there still more to come from him as continues to strive for full match fitness.

Baker, who joined the Club as a free agent at the end of September, scored in back-to-back successes over Port Vale before delivering a second man-of-the-match display in the 2-2 draw with Rochdale on Tuesday night.

“You can train seven days a week but games is what I needed under my belt,” he told red dot. “I’m really glad that I’ve been able to get some match minutes over the past few weeks - each game I’m playing I’m feeling fitter and stronger.

“I’m still not 100% fit and although I’ve been pleased with my last couple of performances, I know there’s a lot more to come from me.

“I’m probably only 75% match fit but hopefully I’ll get the extra 25% over the next few weeks. On the flip side, in the second half of the season I should be really strong.”

Read more from Carl as he discusses his unique way of travelling to training, his forward-thinking style, goals, celebrations and the fans in Saturday’s edition of red dot, available for just £3 from the usual outlets around the ground.

As well as that interview, Dean Lewington reveals his ideal dinner party, Danny Green reflects on his goal in midweek and there’s must-read ‘Bootroom’!
