Carl Baker says the Dons are eager to start putting points on the board away from home, starting on Saturday when they travel to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers.
“If we can start getting on the board away from home then it’ll be massive for us,” Baker told MK Dons PlayerHD. “It’s difficult because the league is so tough but we need to keep working hard and hopefully we’ll come good away from home.
“We’ve got some tough fixtures coming up but we’ve got to believe that our luck will turn soon. We’ll keep working hard day in and day out to make sure that happens - you get out of football what you put in.
Last season’s Player of the Year continued: “The lads are confident and there is still a buzz around the place. It doesn’t feel like we’re in the relegation zone. I’m sure, soon, we’ll get the results that we need to move up the table.”
“It is a little frustrating at the moment because we feel we should be higher up the league after the performances we’ve been putting in. We’ve not been getting the rub of the green but we’ve got to keep working hard and hopefully throughout the course of the season it will even itself out.”
“I remember I was bottom of the league with Southport one Christmas and we went on to get promoted that same year. It just shows, if you can get the points on board over the quick succession of games then you can start to leapfrog teams.
“It is a great time of year,” he added. “There are a lot of games in this period and if we can pick up points through there then we can jump right up the table. Looking at the table now, it’s still quite tight so a couple of wins can put you up where you want to be.
Saturday’s clash at Molineux is the Dons’ final fixture before December, a month which will see them play six times. Baker, though, is looking forward to the festive schedule and believes it’d be the perfect time to put a run of results together.
