Alli handed England call-up

1 October 2015

Dele Alli has become the first Dons Academy product to receive a call-up to the England senior team.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been named in Roy Hodgson’s squad for the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania, the first of which takes place at Wembley Stadium.

Speaking to mkdons.com, his former manager Karl Robinson said: “This is one of the best bits of news I’ve received since becoming a manager. He’s done it all on his own and deserves everything that is coming his way.”

Alli, who made his senior debut in a FA Cup tie against Cambridge City back in November 2012, scored 24 goals in 88 appearances for the Club after progressing through the youth-team set-up at stadiummk.

Signing for Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur back in January, the midfielder returned to stadiummk on loan and helped the Dons achieve a first-ever promotion to the Sky Bet Championship.

The Club would like to wish Dele every success during his time with the England squad and in the future.
