MK Dons’ 5 Nations cyclists completed the 762 mile trip last Saturday, with a number of other riders from the SET Cycle Club joining them for the final leg of the journey.

MK Dons FC Disability Officer Karl White, a member of the 5 nations team, said: “‘The ride was challenging on Day 1 with 138 miles being completed. Our Garmin cycle computers seemed to want to send us the wrong way whenever they could which didn’t help us out.
“All of the riders were superb and I must thank them for giving up their time to cycle and raise money for the SET Disability teams. I must also say a massive thank you to all the sponsors that were very generous in their support for the ride - KingSmith Steel, K White Decorating, ToyMaster, Brewers, Chicken Cycles, Virgin Active and ArchDean Construction.
“The ride also wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Heald Solicitors who sponsored the travel costs and of course the cyclists themselves who paid for their own accommodation so that the charity got the maximum possible monies raised.”

Peter Felce, father of wheelchair player Jason Felce and one of the riders, said: “After completing the Coast to Coast challenge in 2012 we needed to come up with a bigger and better challenge. We initially thought of John O’Groats to Lands End but this had previously been completed by SET staff. This is when we came up with the 5 Nations, 760 miles challenge.
“It has amazed me just how quickly it all came to fruition and how supportive the sponsors have been to help us make a difference. This charity is very dear to me as my youngest son Jason plays in the wheelchair team and my other two sons are also volunteer coaches for them.
“The MK Dons SET have given Jason the opportunity to play the game he loves in a safe and happy environment for a team he supports and is a season ticket holder for, what more could we ask?”
