Ben Reeves says he and his Dons team-mates are relishing the challenge of taking on champions Sheffield United on Saturday.

Reeves & Co will go head-to-head with the Blades in their final home fixture of the 2016/17 campaign.

“It will be a good test. They are certainly not going to sit down and roll over. It will be a good test to see where we are at.”

Dons’ No.10 scored the crucial second goal in the 2-1 success over his former side Southend United on Easter Monday – a result he wants to build on.

“The most important thing was the three points. We’ve got to show we can compete with teams like this. They are a good side and I thought we did well.

“We’ve got to push on now. We’ve got a tough game on Saturday but this win shows we can compete with those teams. We’ve got some good players here.”

He added: “I thought the boys defended really well – the back four were solid. That’s where it starts and then we build on that going forwards.

“We’ve got good character and the manager won’t let us lie down for teams to get on top of us.

“I want them to get promoted but I want to do well for myself and team. I still hope they get promoted, though.

“It was a good game for people to watch. It had most things and most importantly it had some character and fight from us."
