On the victory...
“The fluidity wasn’t overly there so we had to be secure defensively and deny space between the lines. We asked questions of their back four. We looked an offensive threat and defensively we looked very good. The scoreline flattered us a little bit but we’ve had games where we’ve had many more chances and not taken them. The difference today was when the chances came along we took them.”
On turning a corner...
“In the last three games we’ve taken five points from a possible nine which is positive – it’s over two points a game which is what we look for. We’ve worked so hard over the last three weeks. We’ve got a long way to go to catch up on the points that we’ve lost but hopefully we’ve turned that corner now. This wasn’t the finished article today and there’s still a lot more to come from us.”

“Nicky’s (Maynard) after his 100th goal but he’s going to score plenty of goals this season. This would be my first-ever hat-trick and I was happy that he gave me the penalty. There were nerves but in football it’s about how you deal with them. I always do the same things when I go to take a penalty and I did it again and it worked.”
On third goal...
“I’ve got to give credit to Dave (Martin) because it was a great ball. It had to be inch-perfect and it was. It came through to me, I’ve slowed it down and then scooped it past my man. I’ve just smashed hard and low past the keeper, who I don’t think expected it. It was a great way to get my second goal.”
On the second goal...
“I’m running at my man. I’m either coming inside or getting down the line and if I’m coming inside I’m looking to whip it across the box, aiming for it to go in the far post if no one gets a touch on it. Call it what you like but at the end of the day it’s gone in, that’s what matters.”
On the first goal...
“Ryan has got a lot of energy and a lot of talent so it’s about getting him in the right positions. It just seemed to open for me after catching the cross. As soon as I hit it, I thought ‘I couldn’t have hit that any better’. In the wind, it held up nicely for him and he went on and finished it.”
On assist for the third goal...
“It would have been nice to have a clean-sheet, that would have been the cherry on top but the three points was the main thing. I know it’s my 300th game but it’s just another game. I’ve just got to keep ticking them off and hopefully there will be a few more.”
On marking 300th league game with a win...

“You want to be up there (in the table) but as soon as the game starts, the Gaffer has given us a job to do. We did it today. We can still improve. Every game you can improve. If we could have kept a clean sheet and tided up our passes at times, it would have been the perfect game.”
