O’Keefe keen to kick on

21 March 2017

Stuart O’Keefe says successes are more important than match-winning strikes, although he was pleased with his on Saturday!

O’Keefe settled the weekend clash with Coventry City courtesy of a superb effort at the start of the second half.

Speaking to MK Dons PlayerHD, he said: “It was a bit of a poor corner from Reevesy to be honest – he won’t mind me saying - but it popped out to me and sat beautifully so I thought ‘Why not?’! Luckily for me it went in the top left-hand corner!

“We had a lot of the ball but didn’t create too many clear-cut chances. The goal was enough to get us the three points which is the most important thing.”

He added: “We’re good players and we have to believe that. Hopefully this result will help us kick on now because need to do that now.

“If we can get as many good results as we can and finish in the top half it would be a positive for us now.”

Boss Robbie Neilson was full of praise for the 26-year-old post-match, stating: “Stuart was very good. He has a lot of experience at higher levels. He has high standards and you can see that out on the training pitch and on the field.

“I thought he led the team, bursting forward and I was pleased to see him get his goal.”
