Conor McGrandles hopes his move to MK Dons can prove to be a turning point in his career.

McGrandles agreed terms on a switch to Stadium MK earlier this week - a transfer which will become official on July 1st when his contract at Norwich City expires.

The dynamic midfielder arrives in Milton Keynes with a wealth of first-team experience having played over 80 times for hometown club Falkirk but after being limited in his opportunities at Carrow Road, McGrandles is itching to get back to playing on a regular basis.

“I’m very pleased to sign here,” the 21-year-old told MK Dons PlayerHD. “It’s a really good challenge for me.

“It’s been a frustrating few years for me so hopefully coming here can help kick-start my career again.

“I played two full seasons in Scotland. It was really important for me, at that age, to be playing regularly and that really helped me become the player that I am today.

“I’ve not played a whole lot recently so I’m really itching to get back playing again. Being in and around the first-team environment is something I’m eager to do again so for MK Dons to give me this opportunity I’m extremely grateful - hopefully I can take it.”

He added: “If I can do what I know I can do then I think they’ll be happy with me.”

McGrandles decision to sign for the the Dons came less than two weeks after his release from Norwich City was made official but the Scotsman has no doubts about the choice - he’s confident he has joined the right Club.

“I spoke to Norwich and they let me know where my future was lying with them. I started looking for different teams and I learnt then that MK Dons were interested - I knew that if they wanted me, it would be a great place for me to come.

“You never want to be worrying about where your future lies during the offseason and have to come in and trial with teams during pre-season. To come in and get this done so early is perfect.”
