George geared up for Posh clash

25 August 2016

George C Williams understands the importance of Saturday’s fixture with Peterborough United and insists MK Dons will be up for the challenge.

The winger, who helped the Dons to a 3-0 win over Posh back in February 2015 during his first loan spell at the Club, will be looking to make his fifth league appearance of the season this weekend and hopes to mark the occasion with a positive result.

“Peterborough on Saturday, we all know, is a big one,” Williams told MK Dons PlayerHD. “It’s a bit of a derby and in these next couple of days we’ll make sure we’re ready to go on Saturday.”

“I’m feeling better each game and I feel I’ve played enough games now to say I’m fully fit.”

Williams has been involved in every match this season following his season-long loan move from Fulham and the Dons Academy graduate has improved with every fixture.

“We’ve lost in the end so obviously we are a bit disappointed but we’ll dust ourselves and we’ll get ready for Peterborough on Saturday.”

He said: “I think all we can take from the game is positives. They are a Championship side and we took them all the way and played really well – we can be proud of ourselves.

Arguably his best performance of the campaign came in Tuesday’s EFL Cup tie at Championship outfit Reading – an evening the 20-year-old believes was a positive one for the Football Club, despite the penalty shoot-out defeat.
