Galloway excited for Stadium MK return

25 July 2016

Brendan Galloway is looking forward to his Stadium MK return – the place where it all started for one of England’s most exciting young defenders.

The MK Dons Academy graduate is expected to be a part of Everton’s squad for Tuesday’s pre-season friendly– the Dons’ first match at home this summer. Kick-off is at 7.45pm.

“I’m looking forward to (playing MK Dons),” Galloway told BIGREDDOT. “It’s a great place to go, they’ve got a good team and I’m going back to my hometown, so I’m excited to get down there.

“I played there quite a lot and know the manager and the players very well. I have a lot of friends still down there and they will be coming to watch the game. I am looking forward to that and hopefully catching up with a lot of old faces around the place as well.”

“It will definitely be a bit weird but also nice for me to go there as part of the away team, to a stadium I remember so fondly. It will be a different experience to anything I’ve known before even if it is a friendly, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Galloway progressed through MK Dons’ Academy and made 17 appearances for Karl Robinson’s side before joining the Toffees in July 2014.

Since his move to Goodison Park, the England Under-21 international has built on his impressive displays for the Dons and last season he featured 17 times in the Premier League.

“I owe (MK Dons) a huge amount. Breaking into the first team at such a young age and being given the opportunity to play for them was really good and it helped my development a lot.

"The coaching I got there has really helped me to get to where I am today. Karl was a really good manager to me. He likes to play good football, which is always pleasing.

He continued: “I think that I’ve progressed quite a lot. As I said, I learned a lot at MK Dons and I’ve learnt a lot from Everton – I’m still learning every day.

“I think it’s very important for me as a player to keep my head down, keep working hard and I just want to keep on progressing.”
