Callum Brittain and Kabongo Tshimanga both featured for Throttur Reykjavik on Tuesday night, in their Pepsi League clash with Vikingur Olafsvik.
Brynjar Jonasson opened the scoring after latching onto Thiago Pinto Borges’ through-ball before turning provider for Vihjalmur Palmason to double the advantage with a neat finish.
Vikingur then pulled one back just prior to half-time when Hrvoje Tokic headed in from a corner.
Throttur, who introduced Dons striker Tshimanga off the bench in the second period, had chances to extend their lead but with six minutes remaining conceded a scrappy equaliser after failing to deal with a ball in from the left.
They were made to pay for their missed chances in stoppage time when the hosts completed a dramatic turnaround – Aleix Egea Acame finding the net with a header from a corner.
Tuesday’s defeat leaves Throttur in 11th place in the Pepsi League table, although they are level on points with the side above them, IA.
Next up is their Icelandic Cup quarter-final against division-rivals and league leaders FH.
