Attacker Chuks Aneke has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
The 23-year-old was forced to be withdrawn from the fixture at Bradford City 10 days ago with a hamstring problem.
Head of Sports Medicine Simon Crampton told mkdons.com: “Unfortunately, Chuks sustained a tear to his biceps femoris, one of the hamstring muscles, during the match at Bradford.
“After a thorough assessment period and careful deliberation with a team of specialists, it was decided that the best plan going forward for Chuks and his career would be to surgically repair the hamstring.
“Chuks underwent surgery on Tuesday and we are pleased to report everything went to plan. He will now undergo an intense period of rehabilitation with the Club's medical staff.”
