Under the leadership of caretaker boss Richie Barker, the responded to a disappointing October by picking up five points from their four Sky Bet League One matches – enough to lift them out of the bottom four.

They also secured their first home win of the campaign, albeit in the Emirates FA Cup against non-league Spennymoor Town. That game will be remembered for Brandon Thomas-Asante’s goal – his first for the Club.

There was another first in the Checkatrade Trophy tie with Norwich City as first-year scholar Finn Tapp bagged his first senior strike after coming on as a substitute in the match at Carrow Road.

Game-by-game

MK Dons 3-2 Spennymoor Town – Emirates FA Cup Round 1 (Saturday 5th)
MK Dons booked their place in the Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup courtesy of a 3-2 success over Spennymoor Town at Stadium MK.

The men from MK1 raced into a three-goal lead inside the first 15 minutes thanks to Ben Reeves, Brandon Thomas-Asante – his first for the Club – and Kieran Agard.

Spennymoor pulled one back almost immediately and then rode their luck before finding a second late on, however, the Dons comfortably held on to bag a place in the draw.

Norwich City 4-1 MK Dons – Checkatrade Trophy Group F (Tuesday 8th)
MK Dons finished second in Checkatrade Trophy Group F after they fell to a defeat at the hands of a strong Norwich City outfit.

With the Dons’ place in the knock-out stages already confirmed heading into the game, all that was left to play for was who would finish top and it was the incumbent Canaries who secured it courtesy of a 4-1 victory at Carrow Road.

Despite the result, the game will always be fondly remembered by first-year scholar Finn Tapp, who not only made his first-team debut but also found the net.

MK Dons 1-1 Walsall – Sky Bet League One (Saturday 12th)
Dean Bowditch struck late to deservedly hand MK Dons a share of the spoils at Stadium MK.

Bowditch finished superbly from just inside the box to cap a strong spell of pressure and, ultimately, earn a point.

Scott Laird’s first-half header had given the visitors the lead, but the Dons fought back and went close through Ben Reeves and Ryan Colclough, while Bowditch hit the post before his goal.

Bristol Rovers 0-0 MK Dons – Sky Bet League One (Saturday 19th)
MK Dons deservedly earn a share of the spoils at play-off contenders Bristol Rovers.

The men from MK1 more than matched Rovers at the Memorial Stadium, with former Bristol City man Kieran Agard and George Baldock going closest for the visitors.

MK Dons 2-3 Chesterfield – Sky Bet League One (Tuesday 22nd)
MK Dons were on the wrong side of a five-goal thriller as they went down 3-2 at the hands of Chesterfield.

Goals from Daniel Powell and Ryan Colclough saw the Dons turn it around after Jay O’Shea’s first-half opener, only to concede twice in the final 15 minutes to come away empty-handed.

Coventry City 1-2 MK Dons – Sky Bet League One (Saturday 26th)
Ed Upson bagged a brace as MK Dons earned an important three points on the road at Coventry City.

Upson scored either side of a Ben Stevenson strike to lift the men from MK1 out of the bottom four and heading in the right direction in Sky Bet League One.
