Charlie Waller, a young MK Dons defender, made his full debut for the club whilst he also marked the milestone with his first-ever senior goal during a 3-2 victory over Northampton Town.

Following the recent result at Stadium MK, the Dons secured the top-spot of their Bristol Street Motors Group as they achieved three wins from three matches played.

A 3-2 victory over the Cobblers in the final Group Stage fixture secured Nine points and a goal difference of five, which will see the Round of 32 fixture be hosted at Stadium MK.

During the success over Northampton Town, a plethora of young Dons players achieved their senior debuts.

Waller was named within the starting line-up and achieved his first full MK Dons debut as he recently claimed his first appearance with the squad earlier in the contest when he was substituted on to face Chelsea Under-21s.

This milestone was then added to as it was the young defender’s first goal for the Club which saw the game draw level following Northampton’s opener. When asked about a memorable night for the player, Waller responded “I’m just happy we won the game!

“It’s a very proud moment for me, and I can only say thank you to the Gaffer and the staff for putting their faith in me and trusting me to go out there in a difficult role.

“It’s a position that was relatively new to me as I’ve never played in the middle of a back three before, but it’s a role I enjoy because I get a lot of the ball and I can take the team forward. I’m happy I thrived within that position.”
