Jack Davies supports Oxford City as they progress into a cup final, Matt Dennis starts at the VBS Community Stadium and Brooklyn Ilunga returns to Stadium MK following an injury whilst in action.
Jack Davies was named in Oxford City’s starting XI for their Oxfordshire Senior Cup semi-final fixture against Easington. Davies played a full 90-minute match as the Hoops went on to claim a 5-0 victory.
The young defender’s support, as well as a clean sheet has helped Oxford claim a spot in the final of the competition.
Matt Dennis was named in Matt Gray’s starting line-up to face Grimsby Town in a Sky Bet League Two clash at the VBS Community Stadium. The striker had crafted what was arguably the closest chance for the U’s, only to be denied by the outstretched leg of Mariners’ Goalkeeper Max Crocombe.
Unfortunately, Brooklyn Ilunga sustained an injury in Wealdstone’s mid-week fixture against Chesterfield. As a result, the young Don has returned to Stadium MK for the remainder of the season to undergo his rehabilitation.
Tommy Blennerhassett started for Potton United in their 3-2 victory over Crawley Green. The striker will look to continue his winning ways with his loan club as they hunt down a spot within the top ten of the Spartan South Midlands Football League table.
Tring Athletic suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat on the road to Biggleswade United, Liam Mann was substituted onto the field on the 70-minute mark. Mann, as well as Tring will seek redemption in their second consecutive away match this weekend.
