Walsh: Time for results to match improved performances

Defender believes it's only a matter of time before form turns around...

19 November 2019

Joe Walsh feels performances have improved on the pitch, but knows it’s time to start backing them up with points.

MK Dons fell to a late defeat last Saturday as Daryl Murphy secured all three points for Bolton Wanderers with his stoppage-time winner.

Walsh couldn’t hide his disappointment following the full-time whistle and says everyone is ‘gutted’ they were unable to take a result away from The University of Bolton Stadium.

“The performance was so much better than it has been,” Walsh told the local media following the full0time whistle. “We had more energy, we played much more football, and that’s something we know we can do - we played so well, but got killed with the 92nd-minute goal.

“We're looking much better – everyone is looking forward to the next game.

“Russ has lifted all the boys, he knows all of us and how we work, he just wants more from us for the rest of the season. We will all put in 100% for him, we’ll listen to what he says and take everything on board to pick up results.

“There is no point getting down about it, but we have to go again in training, and start picking up results like we know we can.”
