Moore enjoyed Southend start

Goalkeeper impressed in Tuesday's Carabao Cup tie...

28 August 2019

Stuart Moore enjoyed the opportunity to showcase himself in front of manager Paul Tisdale in Tuesday’s Carabao Cup tie with Southend United.

Moore, making his first start of the season, produced a number of important saves to help the Dons seal a place in Round Three of the Carabao Cup.

His performance was recognised not only by his manager but the supporters who voted the 24-year-old as their Man of the Match.

“It was nice to have an opportunity to play and showcase what I can do,” he told the media after the game

“It has been disappointing not to start the season but I know Lee is a very good keeper, so I've got my work cut out and it will be very difficult to get into the side.

“It was very important to play and I needed to get that 90 minutes under my belt.”

He continued: “I had quite a busy game. They caused us a few problems but we weathered the storm well, scored some important goals and we put in a good performance.”
